Tutu Fun

How can you not feel good in a tutu?
I am not saying I have one…and I am not saying that I would not wear one
I actually made one for my DD
She would not wear it for the longest time
“itchy mom…it itchy.”
All of a sudden this past week she was all for wearing it
Not sure what changed her feelings on it

It was super simple to make
I found the pattern here
I even made one for the neighbor girl for her birthday
It really only cost about $6 to make.


(Now I just need to get a new camera cord...so I can post a picture of my cute little one in her tutu)

New Coffee Mug

I love new coffee mugs
this one is extra special because it is from my DD school
They are always doing fundraisers at school
which I understand that it keeps cost down for tuition
But sometimes it gets really tough to say no to buying stuff.
Today they had a table set up by the door- that you had to pass to drop off and pick up your child
It was tough to say no
But coffee mugs are always good to have on hand...so not a complete loss
Those book orders on the other hand can drive someone to the poorhouse...

economy

today in our morning meeting my FIL told us that we may need to lay off some people

what?
really?

I thought we were going to be safe. I thought this was going to to happen to other people.

I feel incredible guilty that this may happen. Since I am the sales department I really took a step back today to see if I was doing everything that I could. With most jobs you have meetings with your boss about goals and objectives for yourself and the company. But really when these happen at the shop it really is just a blame game.

But when I was brainstorming about what I can change myself....the jobs starting pouring in. I have a ton of work orders to write up tonight. thank goodness! Now I just need to keep them coming in. I really think I need to change somethings that I am doing. To start -less facebook -email campaign -mailer those are just the things to start and keep me busy.

We can not afford to lose business. Things need to change. Let's go Obama!

Back to Routine

Even having a 2 year old that is in school that has a spring break....I can really see how parents can be excited for their kids to head back to school. I also love the school that Katelyn goes to right now. She is at Meeting House Nursery on University. I love her teachers. I love her little friends. I love the program. I am excited for to get back to seeing her friends there. I have seen such great changes in her that I think have come because of school.

Never thought I would say it...But YAY!! School is back in session!

Dentist

I have to have lots of work done on my teeth on Thursday. I really am not looking forward to it. Not that anyone looks forward to a dentist visit. I really need to make sure that Katelyn does not have these problems. Time to get her into the dentist.

Zoo Trip

It has been so nice having Amanda here. I have lived in Madison for 8 years now and it is so nice to have family around. The best part is that she is so close to see Katelyn grow up.

Today we went to the Vilas Zoo. Amanda LOVES the zoo. Katelyn is now at an age that she knows what is going on there. She get so excited to see any of the animals from Madagascar. So cute!

After that we drove around for a bit looking at apartments. Then home....just a nice easy day. Need those once in awhile. Next weekend will be crazy busy.

Arizona Trip

We took our first family vacation to Phoenix, AZ from March 13-18, 2009. We traveled to Az before but was there for a wedding in Sedona. It was a great time but Katelyn was a little young to really enjoy the trip.

She was a great age for traveling on this trip. We flew out of Chicago on friday morning. Katelyn did good on the plane but we gave her a little too much of the sweets. Got a little sick near the end of the flight. Thank goodness I had extra clothes with.

We landed in Phoenix about 5:30 and then headed over to get our rental car...Journey!! I was so excited to be able to drive that car for the week. We were to Stacy and Tony's house by dinner.

The next morning we headed out to pick up the co-op basket that Stacy orders. I really need to check and see if there is a program like that around here. She is able to pick up a basket of veggies and and basket of fruit each week. And then they are able to add some delicious bread. Anyways....something to check on....















After we got back we headed to The Train Park. They had a train that you could take a ride on around the park. After we went on that we headed to the playground. Katelyn loved the sprinklers they had there and 1 slide that she must of gone down 30 times.

We had a great time in Arizona. We were there from March 13-18. wonderful weather!

Amanda has moved in with us. She accepted a job at the VA hospital in Madison. It is great to have family around.

snow day

today we got about 10" of snow
and i watched the news this morning like I was still in school
waiting and hoping to see my school
I even got excited when I saw McFarland
It is official - Katelyn and I are working from home
Besides getting some work done
We were able to get the tree up and decorated

Today was the first time Katelyn fell asleep sitting up
Not only was she sitting in my computer chair when she did it
She was watching Curious George at the time
So I took a few photos and then bundled her up and took her to school
She woke up on the way and was ready to go to school

I am so happy that we finally had this done
Growing up we always went to Penney's to have our pictures taken every few months
I really hope this is a tradition I can continue with my family
oh and...
We also went over to Babies R Us to hopefully buy our last box of diapers

Tonight we went to see the UW Madhatters
Always a good time
Lots of great songs
And it was a wonderful reason for my husband and I to have a date night
Can't wait for the spring show

How many cookies in the cookie jar?

Tonight after dinner Katelyn and I made cookies. She loves being able to dump the items in the bowl. Every time I got an ingredient ready she would remind me that it is was her turn. And like every child she loved to lick the beater...even before I had it out of the mixer.

Never thought I would be a "blogger". I just googled a way to keep track of Holiday list. But then I figured what better way to keep track of things. Figure I can add a little note about things once in a while. Should be fun to look back on in awhile.

I am going to keep track of important things that happen around us and even the trivial things. I am going to keep track events that we take part of and things we do around the house. I am going to keep track of places we visit and people that visit us. This will be fun.

Maybe my grammar will even get better...I can hope :)
